And Breathe... Welcome to #2020Green

Your Personal Guide To The "Green" Year Ahead

Letting go, abundant growth and harmonious living, are actions to focus on for 2020.

Based on the ancient art of Numerology and Colour Healing, 2020 is a Green Year - 2+0+2+0 =

4 = Green

Green is mainly associated with nature; it can be as refreshing as a welcome breeze on a balmy summer's night and it can be as stagnant and stuck as lifeless pond water. It is said to be the colour of the Heart Chakra, as well as being connected to abundance, good luck, envy and jealousy. Green is all of this and more.

If we follow Green's nature connection, we can use the wisdom of the four seasons to bring balance and harmony to all areas of our lives. By applying these natural laws, you can find your own rhythm and allow everything to happen in its own right time, just like the seasons, just like green.

You could for example, draw a circle, divide it into four, giving one section for each season, and then think about the different areas of your life, write them down on individual pieces of paper and think about each one and what season they are in. Then place each one in the relevant season in the circle.

Take time to reflect on how you feel once you've placed everything. I find this practice quite revealing, it helps and guides me to know what areas of my life need focus and attention, what areas need cutting back on, and others where I can simply relax.

Spring greens give us the energy and fizz to get excited about the new, Summer greens enable us to enjoy that which we have created and has now blossomed. Autumn greens help us to reflect and look back to see what has been and what needs to be let go of. Winter greens remind us to rest and go within and just be.

We have TV programmes about hoarders and others that tell us how to clear the clutter (Autumn). There are numerous articles and researches about the "instant gratification" culture of "I need this NEW thing now" (Spring).

Do we spend enough time in the energy of Summer appreciating all that we have and seeing the beauty that surrounds us, or are we stuck in Spring always wanting the new? Do we take the opportunity of the energy of Winter to rest and recharge and go within, or do we make sure our 'Spring' schedule is always full and there's never an opportunity for silence and peace to enter the room?

Ask yourself, what area of my life needs more balance, what am I holding onto that no longer serves me? What actions do I need to take in order to be balanced and to let go? Ask yourself, does this person, this job, this situation, this place; help me grow and importantly, does this make my heart sing?

These are the questions that Green invites and offers us to explore.

Try introducing the colour into your home as wall coverings or subtle soft furnishings, or maybe a few plants or photographs of nature. Experiment meditating on the shade or tone of green you like. Or simply take time to go out into nature and just breathe in the freshness that surrounds you.

the colours of the spirit."

Pantone, for the last 20 years, has been giving us a "Colour of the Year" based on trends and social climates. This year it is Classic Blue, a colour that imbues a sense of dependability and trust and at the same time gives us the opportunity to dream into the vast blueness of and evening sky. Time to root into what was and breathe into the new.

Let's make it personal

So we've got the natural abundance and balance of Green and the stability and the expansiveness of Classic Blue, all of which create a sense of making it a year to appreciate where we have come from, what we have learnt, and what and where we want to dream into next. Certainly, we can tap into these collective energies for own development but what about you and your personal year colour, that needs to be added into the mix too!

Your personal year colour is as it sounds, personal, it's closer to home and can guide you on how to make the most out of the next twelve months. Your year colour is about putting the colour to work for you in the best way possible.

Whatever your year colour, introduce it into your life in whichever way feels right for you, again the shade and tone of the colour is personal to you, there's no one definitive shade. Remember, keep it personal and make it count!

To discover the colour that will be working for you in 2020 you add the day and the month of your birthday to the current year, i.e.:

12/4 becomes 1+2+4+(2020)2+0+2+0= 11 = 1+1 = 2

A guide to your year colour

1 = Red

A year of new beginnings, what you do this will set the intention for the next 9 years. Be bold, be active and be daring!

2 = Orange

A year of relationships, this is a year to build new relationships and sort out the ones you do have. Make the relationships you have with people and things worthy of being with you. You are worth it!

3 = Yellow

A year of recognising your personal strength and power. Use this year to analyse who you are and what you have to offer the world. Then step out and shine!

4 = Green

A year to take stock, step back, and breathe. What have you achieved so far, give thanks. Let go of what no longer serves you, take time to relax and learn to go with the flow. Everything happens in its own right time.

5 = Blue

A year of speaking your truth. Draw on the balance and harmony of this green year to stand in your own truth, speak out loud and declare who you are and what you want. Find the song in your Soul and teach people your kind of music!

6 = Indigo

A year of going within. An indigo year invites us to turn inwards to look deep into our own depths of being. This year calls for you to look at the shadows that you have been running from, an indigo year holds up the mirror!

7 = Violet

A year of coming out! The metamorphosis of indigo has passed, let the butterfly in all its majestic glory step forth. This is a year of inspiration and recognising all that you are and all that you have to offer, own it, and step out onto centre stage!

8 = Rose

A year of The Lover! A rose year invites us to look at our life through the eyes of love, do you love what you do and the people and things you surround yourself with? A rose year invites you out into the world. A great year for international connections and relations!

9 = Gold

A year of endings. So, here we are at the end of a nine-year cycle, this is a year to look back to see what you have learnt over the past years and what you are taking with you into the next new cycle. Be wise in the knowledge that this year is the year to share what you know. This year is the year!

By working with the combined colour energies of 2020 and your personal year colour you can blossom and unfold the life you were born to live.

As Brené Brown reminds us,

"Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go

of who we think we are supposed to be and

embracing who we are"

Here's to a thriving #2020 Green,

Be well and stay colour-full,

Colourfully yours,

Mark
